Currently I am working as Group CIO of Omni Hospitals having 6 hospitals with 1,100 beds, a South India based tertiary hospital chain from 01-Mar-2018 to till date where I am responsible for developing IT leadership excellence, creating clinical, business transformation, and managing technology based strategic growth. I have successfully provided the IT transformation support to this chain’s various hospital leadership teams on benchmark-based cost containment, novel revenue growth and data-based revenue leak avoidance strategies, contributing thereby to the Management’s EBITDA revival plans.
Planned the full IT infra and application revamp for the Group including common HIMS, EMR, Patient App, Telemedicine App, AI driven business process support apps at various touchpoints etc. The projects are all budgeted and few pf them deployed and adopted whereas few are under implementation.
While improving the IT footprint of the hospitals dramatically I was also able to control their IT operations costs by a factor of nearly 20% by aggressive re-negotiation of entire vendor contracts and substituting various services.
During Covid Pandemic, I had introduced the state-of-the-art technology to engage the patient virtually by introducing home & hotel quarantine treatment pathway first time in the industry to ensure that needy & critical patients are being admitting to the Omni Hospitals to balance the better patient and provider experiences. As a result, post covid, the culture of virtual consultation has become the regular practice, and all the respective patient SOPs has been modified and adopted by the Omni Group of Hospitals. Also, the post covid occupancy at Omni has been improved by 10% in the topliner revenue compared to post covid years of data.
Due to the current planned execution of “Journey to Paperless Operations” for Omni Hospitals, I was awarded the Best CIO Award recently by CXO Techplus Media for Tech Excellence Award -2020 in the “League of Outstanding Tech Innovators.”
